Noted insider Tom Henderson recently shared new details about GTA 6. Starting with the positive news, Henderson claims that the game’s release date—November 19, 2026—is firmly set. If accurate, this would mean no further delays are anticipated unless something unforeseen occurs. Assuming this timeline holds, Rockstar’s marketing campaign should begin within the next few months.
GTA 6 Is Expected to Carry a High Price Tag
Unfortunately, the pricing news isn’t as pleasant. According to Henderson, Rockstar Games plans to follow Nintendo’s recent pricing strategy by setting the base version of GTA 6 at $80. This would be the lowest-priced edition at launch. In addition, a Deluxe Edition is reportedly in the works, expected to retail for $100—an approach many fans already anticipated.
While details about the Deluxe Edition haven’t been officially outlined, Rockstar’s past releases provide some clues.
What Could the GTA 6 Deluxe Edition Include?
Henderson didn’t specify what separates the standard version of GTA 6 from its Deluxe Edition, but Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a useful comparison. That game’s Deluxe Edition featured bonus story content, additional missions, exclusive items, and early gameplay perks—none of which significantly impacted the core experience.
If Rockstar wanted to strongly incentivize the $100 version, early access could be an option. However, the company has historically avoided this model. Offering early access could dilute the impact of launch day sales, which are critical for marketing momentum, media coverage, and investor confidence. Rockstar typically prioritizes a massive day-one release rather than splitting its player base.
As a result, there’s little reason to believe any version of GTA 6 will include early access content.
