Although Grand Theft Auto VI is still over a year away from its anticipated release, excitement around the game continues to build—this time due to potential performance capabilities on next-gen consoles. A recent online video has sparked new rumors that GTA 6 might run at 60 frames per second (fps) on certain platforms.

Will GTA 6 Hit 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro?

GTA 6 Could Support 60 FPS on Select Consoles

A report from GizmoChina highlights a claim made by an X (formerly Twitter) user going by the name Detective Seeds. According to this leak, Rockstar Games is collaborating with Sony to fine-tune GTA 6 for the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, with the goal of achieving 60 fps gameplay through enhanced graphics options.

If this turns out to be true, it would mark a notable departure from Rockstar’s usual approach. Past titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 initially launched on consoles with a 30 fps limit, while 60 fps support was reserved for the PC versions later on. With GTA 6, the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X are expected to run the game at 30 fps, while the PS5 Pro could offer a smoother experience—potentially giving it a technical edge when the game reportedly launches in May 2026.
