Old feature can be back in GTA 6

Rockstar Games’ much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI could potentially reintroduce a mini-game last featured in 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This would mark the return of the feature after nearly two decades, as it was absent from both GTA IV and GTA V. The speculation comes from well-known YouTuber LegacyKillaHD, who has shared insider information on the development of GTA VI.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), LegacyKillaHD hinted at stepping back from covering GTA VI updates, saying, “Think I’m about done reporting GTA 6 stuff on here that I’ve heard or providing insight. One game I wish I didn’t know so much about.” He then revealed some details, claiming a specific team at Rockstar’s Toronto studio has been focused on reviving the basketball mini-game.

However, LegacyKillaHD suggested that the mini-game might not make it into the final release. He noted that despite the dedicated team working on the feature, it was “on the chopping block” toward the end of 2023, indicating that Rockstar might not be fully satisfied with the mini-game’s progress. He added, “Devs thinking vs knowing is a big difference,” to highlight the uncertainty.

In addition to the mini-game news, LegacyKillaHD mentioned that GTA VI’s main storyline will be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2 and will feature the franchise’s signature over-the-top missions, some of which may be influenced by the Fast & Furious series. He also hinted that the game will include more Red Dead Redemption 2-style gameplay than fans might expect.
