A new set of leaked Grand Theft Auto VI story details has become even more intriguing after Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, reportedly issued a copyright strike against an unofficial GTA 6 account and a YouTuber who covered the leaks. These details were originally shared by YouTuber LegacyKillaHD in September, offering insights into the game’s story mode and potential gameplay features.
The leaks suggest that Lucia will play a central role in GTA 6’s narrative, with some of the heist missions being inspired by the Fast and Furious franchise. Separate intro missions for both Lucia and Jason are also mentioned, along with a more grounded storyline focusing on criminals balancing family struggles while trying to figure out their lives. The leaked story is said to be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2).
Other details point to the inclusion of various gameplay elements from RDR2, corrupt cops, multiple locations, and new gameplay modes. While these leaks remain speculative, as Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed them, a GTA 6 X account, @GTAVI_Countdown, with over 183,000 followers, claimed that these leaks were “pretty much confirmed” after receiving a DMCA takedown notice from Take-Two Interactive.
Known for sharing GTA 6-related news, leaks, and rumors, @GTAVI_Countdown’s reported DMCA strike has raised eyebrows among fans. The DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act), passed in 1998, was designed to update American copyright law to address issues surrounding the internet and digital content.
YouTuber Cyber Boi was also hit with a copyright strike by Take-Two after covering the same leaks from LegacyKillaHD. Cyber Boi explained that he didn’t share any leaked footage but instead used clips from GTA V while discussing the leaked details. He, along with other YouTubers whose content has reportedly been taken down, believes the strikes suggest the leaks are genuine.
However, as with previous rumors and leaks, it’s best to take these details with a grain of salt while we eagerly await the release of GTA 6’s second trailer. Many fans are hopeful that Trailer #2 will drop by the end of the year, though Rockstar has yet to confirm an official release date.
